Job Description

Site: Toronto General Hospital
Department: Nutrition Services
Reports to: Manager
Hours/Shifts: 37.5 hours per week; 0700-1500 including alternate weekends and statutory holidays
Salary: $25.17 – $25.91 per hour. (Start rate: $25.17 per hour in accordance with collective agreement requirements).
Status: Temporary Full-Time (up to 6 months)

Duties

Filling orders for multiple departments/sites applying “First in First out” system when removing items from locations and bin numbers;
Delivering food trucks and orders to designated locations, as per established schedule, unloading and putting items in designated location;
Receiving and storing incoming goods, following safety precautions;
Qualifications
At minimum, completion of high school or recognized equivalent;
3 months to less than 6 months practical and related experience and/or 3 months to less than 6 months on the job training;
Must be able to understand verbal work orders and instructions;
Must be able to read/understand short notes, brief forms, invoices, orders and memos;
Ability to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner and produce high quality work while meeting deadlines in accordance to UHN code of conduct standards;
Exercise initiative and good judgment with ability to multi-task;
Effective organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills;
Client service oriented, with the ability to effectively work with diversity and appreciate that people with different opinions, backgrounds and characteristics bring richness to the challenge or situation at hand;
Must be able to meet the physical demands of the job: able to lift 11 kg to 20 kg;
Must be able to tolerate a cold environment (refrigerated work area);
Completion of a Food Handlers course, an asset (on the job certification provided).
