Summary:
We are seeking a hands-on Process Development Engineer to support a fast-growing medical device company. This role will be embedded within the production engineering team, focusing on process improvement, scrap reduction, and yield optimization. The ideal candidate will play a key role in enhancing an existing manufacturing line by identifying inefficiencies, stabilizing production, and implementing engineering-driven solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and support process improvement initiatives with a focus on scrap reduction and yield improvement.
- Partner with Production Engineering to troubleshoot complex manufacturing line issues.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for process inefficiencies.
- Conduct process characterization to understand variability and improve performance.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and help stabilize production.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement sustainable process improvements.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Biomedical, or related field).
- Proven experience in process development engineering within the medical device industry.
- Experience working on complex device assemblies (multi-component systems, ~20+ parts preferred).
- Strong understanding of end-to-end medical device assembly processes.
- Hands-on experience with manufacturing and assembly techniques such as: Ultrasonic welding, Laser welding, UV adhesive bonding,Press fits.
- Functional testing in controlled environments
- Experience with process characterization and variability analysis.
- Working knowledge of equipment and process validation (IQ/OQ/PQ) and ability to collaborate with validation teams.
