We are seeking an experienced Network & Security Engineer for one of our client in Manufacturing IndustryOur Client:A North American leader in integrated piping product design and manufacturing. Renowned for their extensive product range and commitment to quality, they’re seeking a talented Network and Security Engineer to join their growing team in Oakville or Montreal.
About the Role:In this role, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding the company’s critical IT infrastructure and ensuring seamless network operations. You’ll leverage your expertise in network & security best practices to develop, implement, and manage robust network & security solutions that are resilient and protect against cyber threats.
Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain secure network architecture for optimal performance and scalability
Configure and administer routers, switches and access points
Configure and administer firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and other security tools
Conduct regular vulnerability assessments to identify and mitigate security risks
Monitor network activity for suspicious behavior
Manage user access controls and establish security policies and procedures
Troubleshoot network connectivity issues and diagnose network performance problems
Stay up-to-date on emerging cyber threats and implement necessary security updates
Collaborate with IT teams to ensure network security aligns with business objectives
Document network configurations, security policies, and procedures
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
3-5+ years of experience in a network and security role
Experience with Cisco Routing & Switching, Cisco DNA, Cisco ISE, Cisco ACI
Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing network & security solutions
Strong understanding of network security concepts (firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, etc.)
Experience with network & security tools and technologies (e.g. Checkpoint, Fortinet, Firewall Analyzer tool)
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and meet deadlines
A valid Canadian work permit and authorization to work in Canada
Hybrid, 2 days per week in office
