Come work in the beautiful mountain vacation village of Lava Hot Springs with us! Nectar Gelato & Espresso is hiring for a full service barista position in Lava Hot Springs. Nectar is a boutique coffee house that serves house made gelatos, house made baked pastries, house roasted coffees and espressos, tea, craft sodas, breakfast bagels, and lunch sandwiches.
We’re looking for an experienced barista that is creative, cheerful, fast working and organized with great communication skills to be involved in the growth of this great little restaurant. Duties include prepping stations, making and serving all our creations. A food handler card is preferred but not required. Nectar has its own coffee roaster in house. We make our gelatos and baked goods at our other kitchen within Eruption Brewery & Bistro. Our mission is to create well thought out flavor combinations with locally sourced and fresh seasonal ingredients and be unique in our recipes.
The restaurant is open 8:30am-9pm weekdays and 8am-10pm Friday / Saturday in the summer. Typically, one person will work weekdays into Saturday and the other will work Saturday and after the weekend so there is overlap on the busy weekends. The day is split into 2 shifts at 3pm. Wages start at $12/hr and up, depending on experience, PLUS TIPS. Pay raises or profit sharing bonuses are available each year based on performance. A gas allowance is available if you live 25 miles or more from Lava Hot Springs starting at $10 per day depending on location.
