The City of North Bay is seeking a Municipal Water and Sewer Operator for a full-time role that ensures the community’s water systems run smoothly. This position emphasizes system maintenance, repair, and installation.
As a key member of the infrastructure team, you will work directly under the Sewer & Water Supervisor. The role requires a Class 1 Water Distribution Certificate and a Class 1 Wastewater Collection Certificate, along with one year of relevant experience. Familiarity with various water and sewer equipment is necessary, enabling efficient operations for the municipal water distribution and wastewater collection systems.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform inspections and maintenance on water systems
• Execute repairs and installations of water and sewer facilities
• Operate specialized equipment effectively
• Fill out necessary service reports accurately
• Be part of the Duty System for emergency tasks
Requirements:
• Grade 12 education or equivalent qualification
• Class 1 Water Distribution and Wastewater Collection Certificates
• One year of experience in a similar role
• Ontario class “D” driver’s license with a “Z” endorsement
• Strong understanding of safety procedures
