Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Mining Engineer to join a

of mining operations within the region.
Responsibilities:
Mining Operations Management:
Oversee day-to-day mining operations, ensuring adherence to
safety protocols
, environmental regulations, and production targets.
Project Planning and Development:
Collaborate with
cross-functional teams
to develop and implement mining plans, including mine design, scheduling, and resource estimation.
Resource
Optimization
:
Utilize engineering principles and software tools to optimize resource extraction, minimize costs, and maximize operational efficiency.
Technical Support:
Provide technical expertise and guidance to resolve operational challenges, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvement initiatives.
Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance:
Promote a culture of safety and environmental stewardship, conducting risk assessments, and implementing mitigation measures.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Build and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies, local communities, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance and foster positive relations.
Budgeting and Cost Control:
Assist in budget preparation, cost estimation, and monitoring expenditures to ensure efficient use of resources and adherence to financial targets.
Continuous Improvement
:
Identify opportunities for
process optimization
, technology adoption, and best practices implementation to enhance overall performance and competitiveness.
Reporting and Documentation:
Prepare regular reports, presentations, and technical documentation to communicate key performance indicators, project updates, and operational insights to stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering or related field.
Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility for registration with the Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).Minimum of 10 years of experience in mining engineering, preferably within the Ontario region.
Strong knowledge of mining principles, practices, and regulations.
Proficiency in mining software and modeling tools (e.g., Surpac, Mine Sight, Vulcan).Excellent analytical,
problem-solving
, and decision-making skills.
Effective
communication
and interpersonal abilities, with the capability to collaborate across
multidisciplinary
teams.
