The Maintenance Millwright, reports to the Maintenance Manager, and is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment at our organic processing facility. This role also involves overseeing and leading the daily maintenance activities carried out by both Veolia personnel and contractors. The Industrial Maintenance Millwright will be expected to perform preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance of the site’s various equipment by Veolia standards.

Main

Responsibilities

  • Repair, maintain, install, replace, troubleshoot, diagnose various machinery and mechanical processes.

  • Experienced in the Repair of the following, but not limited to:
    Centrifuges (Separators), Pumps, Conveyors (Belt & Screw), Hydraulic presses, Fans & Blowers, etc.

  • Disassemble machines and repair, replace, or adjust parts as needed. Clean and lubricate equipment, parts, and machinery;

  • Provide expert advice on troubleshooting and diagnosing equipment maintenance-related issues;

  • Organize required parts for specific maintenance activities.

  • Work from engineering drawings, rough sketches, manuals, or verbal instructions to install and/or repair equipment according to OEM specifications;

  • Ensure that all necessary maintenance is carried out in a timely and efficient manner;

  • Interact with the Site CMMS program and complete assigned work orders as required, ensuring appropriate follow-up communication;

  • May be required to perform machine operator duties on occasion;

  • Assist co-workers with any questions or issues regarding task completion.

  • Qualifications

    • Possess a valid 433A Millwright certification.

    • Need to be knowledgeable and hands-on with Stick, MIG and TIG welding, having certification on any kind of welding is an asset.

    • 5-10 years’ experience as an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic, preferably in a heavy industrial environment, such as waste management, water treatment, chemical processing, petrochemicals, cement production, or metal processing.

    • Proven knowledge of using hand tools, power tools, and shaft alignment tools.

    • Act safely and professionally and wear appropriate attire including the required personal protective equipment (PPE).

    • Ability to lead and mobilize the work of contractors.

    • Interpersonal, teamwork, and customer service skills.

    • Good time management, priority setting, and ability to manage and resolve technical issues quickly.

    • Exceptional communication skills.

    • Demonstrate a high level of proactivity and independence.

    • Experience in updating the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) with accurate data in accordance with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) is a valuable asset.

    Work Environment

    • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:
      Fast-paced environment, Repetitive tasks, physically demanding, and attention to detail.

    • Work Site Environment:
      Can get dusty, recycling odour.

    • Shifts:

      Monday – Friday; 6:00 AM– 2:30 PM + Overtime. Incumbents must be flexible in their availability according to the operational need.
