PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Rebuild, repair or overhaul all types of can manufacturing equipment and make repair machine parts.
TOOLS & EQUIPMENT:
Machine tools, shop tools, various hand tools and measuring devices.

DUTIES:

1) Rebuild, repair or overhaul all types of can manufacturing equipment. Make or repair parts as required.
2) Read and interpret blueprints, work from verbal or written instructions or part to be copied or fitted, to plan setup and operation on all types of basic and specialized machine tools.
3) Determine specifications for inspection of work, and using full range ofprecisionmeasuring and gauging tools; perform all required inspection before, during and after machining. Determine and make most efficient setup and operate machine tools taking into consideration such things as type of materials, tolerances to be held, types of cutting tools, coolants, lubricants and machine tool speeds and feeds.

Heat, treat and weld parts as required.
4) Use all machinist hand tools; exhibit a thorough knowledge of mechanical principles involved in repair and overhaul work including timing, synchronizing and aligning the mechanical actions so that, under power, the assemblies are mechanically coordinated.
5) Setup and test can manufacturing and other equipment under power, testing for mechanical difficulties, tracing to their source and correcting.
6) Keep assigned area clean and hazard free.
7) Ensure that all safety equipment, devices and guards are properly used and in place at all times. Follow safe working procedures and safety rules.

Job Requirements *

Monday to Friday Shift 7:00 am – 3:30pm

Must be certified Millwright.

Successful candidates must have previous experience working in an automated manufacturing environment, a minimum of an intermediate level of mechanical and technical skills, and strongcommunication skills.
Advanced skills in preventative maintenance are required for this position.
