The Middleware Specialist will be working closely with DBAs and other Middleware Specialists. The Middleware Specialist’s primary responsibility will be to ensure that the middleware environments are well maintained, evolved and compliant with evolving technology. The Middleware Specialist will participate in the delivery of the changes required to implement new components and ensure their successful integration with the applications and infrastructure.

Your future duties and responsibilities

• Provide expert advice, guidance and knowledge sharing in middle-tier domain, and implement middle-tier solutions.

• Lead all middle-tier initiatives required for platform maintenance and evolution.

• Responsible for the maintenance and setup of on-premise and cloud environments – including provision of servers, configuration of operating system, and install and configuration of middleware software and services.

• Assist with client implementation, software deployments and packaging deliverables as required.

• Monitor system performance based on service-level agreements and ensure that they are met.

• Restore services as soon as possible; participate in root-cause analysis, develop and implement permanent solutions to problems, and establish mechanisms to monitor, track, and report on service levels using metrics.

• Provide on-call support as needed for critical issues.

• Ensure consistency with best practices.

• Take ownership and responsibility for resolution of middleware-related technical issues.

• Identify and document technology specific standards.

• Responsible for monitoring of the middle-tier standards.

• Maintain documentation, be active in

continuous improvement

and knowledge sharing with colleagues.

• Conduct research into leading-edge solutions, monitor technology development and industry trends, and take the lead in evaluating new services and techniques
