Job Summary

Reporting to the Manager, Social Work, School Social Workers provide a wide variety of support to students, families and the schools that they service through direct work with individual students, groups of students and educator teams, both inside and outside the classroom.

Your role

as a Mental Health Resource Clinician requires you to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, presentation skills, creativity,

flexibility

and commitment so that you can translate your superior clinical knowledge psycho-social issues into the educational system to improve the lives and educational outcomes for students.

You will

provide Tier One and Tier Two interventions to students and staff consisting of presentations, workshops, groups and some individual counselling.

Qualifications Bachelor’s or Masters degree in Social Work Registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Demonstrated experience providing social work services to children, youth and families

Proven experience as a member of a multi-disciplinary team Knowledge of community based mental health services in the Region of Peel Excellent oral and written

communication

skills5 years post graduate experience and previous school board employment as a social worker preferred.

Must have

access to an automobile and possess a valid driver’s license and willingness to work within all regions of Peel Demonstrated commitment to working in a
