Role Description
This is a contract, on-site position based in Sudbury, ON for a Mechanical Project Engineer with an industrial background. The Mechanical Project Engineer will be responsible for managing and overseeing projects from throughout all stages of execution. While delivering on schedule, budgets, and quality standards, the ideal candidate will also ensure project goals are met to the satisfaction of the client & stakeholders. Daily tasks include meeting with stakeholders & providing updates, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams (in-house and consultants), field inspections of active construction projects, and ensuring compliance with engineering standards. The role is heavily weighted in aspects of project planning, monitoring progress, and addressing potential challenges effectively to deliver successful project outcome. The role requires the successful candidate to be self-directing to deliver on the unique needs of each project with limited direction.
Qualifications
- Expertise in Mechanical Engineering and Project Engineering in the Industrial field (minimum 7 years experience)
- Strong Project Management skills with a focus on timelines, budgets, and reporting
- Experience leading multi-discipline projects

- Experience executing capital projects and the associated budget-requests, reporting ans forecasting
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities to work with multidisciplinary teams, production and maintenance workers
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation in Ontario
- Previous experience in industrial or mining projects is an advantage
- Familiarity with SAP is an asset
