This position is for an experienced Mechanical Aerospace Drafter role to join a growing aerospace team with One of Our Important Client. As an important part of the Mechanical team, you will actively be providing critical value to our customers by helping to ensure high quality and accurate data is made available to the customers’ engineering and quality teams to meet operational goals.
This role will work with the team and our major aerospace customer to identify and create sectioned drawings to update a newly implemented QMS system. The successful candidate will have experience preparing technical drawings and plans, utilizing Computer Aided Design applications. The successful candidate will have a diverse skill set and leverage capabilities to check the quality of all incoming drawings for accuracy before preparing to move into the ATS Inspect system. You will be a firm advocate of quality in our business.
The ideal candidate will have a trained eye for detail and will be reliable and committed. A passion for quality standards and quality product output is essential and job duties may include technical reviews, designing new tools or systems of measurement, interpreting data, or researching the science of engineering to better processes/accuracy.
This is an on-site position, meaning much of this role will require working out of our customers’ facilities located in Minneapolis, MN.
Duties/Responsibilities
Coordinate with engineers for design requirements and understanding the requirements for the tasks
Create, modify or revise CAD drawing using available CAD applications to meeting the project requirements under engineering direction
Provides CAD and drafting support for new and existing products as well as support manufacturing process when needed
Ensure adherence to company and industry standards
Estimate time needed for completing the assigned tasks
Ensure tasks performed are error free
Use computer-based programs to clock in and out and to perform other self-serve duties
Work quickly and accurately in a fast paced environment
Ability to use standard inspection tools to verify parts meet print or technical manual specifications (calipers, height gages, optical comparators, etc.)
Maintain records of measurement information and various metrics within customer proprietary software
Participate in FAA inspections, ISO Certification and surveillance audits and customer audits as needed
Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement.
Required Skills/Abilities
Experience with SolidWorks, CREO, or related 3D engineering modeling software
You know, drafting. You’re a CAD enthusiast with at least 3 years of experience or technical training
You’re a people person with the ability to interface and collaborate effectively with other team members.
Detail oriented, with strong organizational and communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally in a team environment.
Ability to work with minimum supervision
