The role
Kollabtek is seeking a Mechanical Designer/Engineer to support one of our clients in the space industry. In this role, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to design and develop mechanical components and structures used in satellite systems, including antennas, payloads, and electronic units. This position offers the opportunity to work on the full lifecycle of advanced satellite hardware in a highly technical and collaborative engineering environment.
Your responsibilities
- Design mechanical components and assemblies for satellite antennas, payloads, and electronic units.
- Analyze and interpret customer technical requirements.
- Develop mechanical concepts and design solutions that meet performance and environmental constraints.
- Select and design components while considering space environment constraints (thermal, structural, vibration, etc.
- ).
- Integrate inputs from electrical, materials, structural, and thermal engineering disciplines into 3D models.
- Develop and maintain engineering documentation including fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, parts lists and bill of materials.
- Contribute to budgets and system-level design evaluations.
- Support manufacturing, integration, and mechanical testing of hardware.
- Monitor and coordinate activities with component suppliers.
- Participate in technical presentations and design reviews with customers.
- Coordinate design activities to ensure project progress and schedule alignment.
Your Background And Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering (or equivalent).
- 5-15 years of experience in mechanical design, with knowledge of GD&T.
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience with CAD design tools (NX preferred).
- Experience with mechanical design in aerospace or high-reliability industries.
- Bilingual (French and English).
- Ability to obtain and maintain Reliability Status clearance.
- Eligibility for Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR compliance.
