Description
the Mechanical Designer will be working in a dynamic environment fast paced. They will be responsible to design jigs and fixtures for welding (manual and robotic), assembly and inspection for a variety of product types. Various tasks that the Mechanical Designer will be involved with include concept generation, components selection, cost validation, design for manufacturing, drawings creation, and release to production. The candidate will also review and support of prototypes and production build of small to large assemblies.
Role &
Responsibilities
Ensure items are designed to meet product’s specifications.
Create and validate jig and tooling designs in SolidWorks
Prepare of mechanical drawings using SolidWorks.
Selecting components and materials to meet the functional and ergonomic design requirements.
Prepare bills of materials.
Work with internal stakeholders to review designs and selection of components.
Support Production to troubleshoot assembly and fabrication problems.
Participate in team Brainstorming sessions.
Prerequisites
Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering.
Proficient with SolidWorks with a minimum of 5 years of design experience.
Technical aptitude with hands-on approach to engineering.
Knowledge of engineering and manufacturing practices.
Knowledge of technical aspects of mechanical and electro-mechanical systems.
Experience in weldments and sheet metal are essential.
Understanding of Geometric Tolerancing & Dimensioning (GD&T).
Detailed oriented and strong organizational skills.
Excellent time management skills, able to manage competing priorities.
Advanced spoken and written bilingualism (French – English)
