Seeking an experienced Material Handler to support our structural steel and process piping fabrication operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong rigging skills, experience operating overhead bridge cranes and forklifts, and a proven ability to safely load and secure structural steel and fabricated piping for shipment.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick, stage, and prepare materials for painting and shipment.
- Load structural steel and spooled process piping onto trucks in accordance with safe loading practices.
- Utilize proper cribbing, blocking, dunnage, and load securement methods to prevent damage during transport.
- Track, document, and verify all materials being loaded and shipped.
- Safely operate overhead bridge cranes to move structural steel, piping, and fabricated assemblies.
- Perform rigging activities using slings, shackles, chains, and other lifting devices.
- Conduct pre-use inspections of rigging equipment and lifting devices.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Operate a jockey truck/yard truck to move trailers within the facility and position trailers for loading and unloading operations.
- Coordinate trailer movements to support efficient shipping, receiving, and production operations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of material handling experience in a steel fabrication, industrial construction, manufacturing, or heavy industrial environment.
- Experience operating overhead bridge cranes & forklifts.
- Strong rigging knowledge and safe lifting practices.
- Ability to read and interpret shipping documents, load lists, and material tags.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
· Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, pull, and position materials weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
· Ability to handle rigging equipment, cribbing, dunnage, chains, slings, and load securement devices.
· Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and work safely throughout a scheduled shift.
Education & Experience:
- A high school diploma or GED.

Pay: $25.00 – $28.00 per hour
