Job Overview
We are seeking a licensed Master Electrician to complete the final connection and activation of pre-installed solar panel systems. The panels and mounting infrastructure are already in place; your role will focus on safely integrating the system into the existing electrical service and ensuring full compliance with Ontario codes and utility requirements. The ideal candidate will possess extensive electrical experience, strong leadership abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of electrical systems, schematics, and safety protocols. This role is vital in ensuring the successful execution of solar installations.
Responsibilities
- Connect solar PV systems to existing electrical panels and service equipment
- Install and wire inverters, disconnects, and metering equipment as required
- Perform system testing, commissioning, and activation
- Verify system integrity, grounding, and bonding
- Ensure all work complies with local electrical codes, safety regulations, and industry standards
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialized electrical equipment to complete tasks efficiently
- Coordinate with project manager and team members to ensure timely project completion
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior staff as needed
Requirements
- Valid Master Electrician license with relevant state certification.
- Extensive experience in commercial electrician work
- Strong knowledge of AC systems, power distribution, and control wiring.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and specialized electrical equipment safely and effectively
- Familiarity with safety standards related to electrical work in commercial settings
- Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Prior experience working with solar Installation and grid activation is preferred
Pay: $38.00-$42.00 per hour
