Cabinet Builder Job Description
Position Title: Master Finish Carpenter/ Cabinet Builder
Department: Production / Shop
Reports To: Shop Foreman or Production Manager
Position Summary
The Cabinet Builder is responsible for assembling and building custom cabinetry and millwork according to shop drawings, specifications, and quality standards. This role focuses strictly on cabinet construction and assembly within the shop environment.
Primary Responsibilities
Build and assemble custom cabinets, casework, drawers, doors, and related components.
Read and interpret shop drawings, cut lists, and production paperwork
Assemble face-frame and frameless cabinetry accurately and efficiently
Install cabinet hardware including hinges, drawer slides, clips, and specialty accessories
Verify measurements and ensure components meet specifications before assembly
Operate standard woodworking and cabinet shop equipment safely
Sand, prep, and inspect cabinetry prior to finishing or shipping
Maintain clean and organized workstations and shop areas
Report damaged materials, missing parts, or production issues to management
Follow company production schedules and deadlines
Maintain quality standards and minimize material waste
Assist with loading completed cabinetry when needed
Required Skills & Qualifications
Experience in cabinet building, woodworking, or millwork.
Ability to read tape measures and shop drawings accurately
Knowledge of cabinet construction methods and materials
Ability to safely operate shop tools and machinery
Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
Ability to work independently and with a production team
Reliable attendance and punctuality
Ability to lift 50+ pounds and stand for extended periods
Physical Requirements
Frequent standing, bending, lifting, and repetitive motion
Ability to safely handle sheet goods, hardwoods, and finished cabinetry
Comfortable working in a manufacturing/shop environment
Performance Expectations
Produce quality cabinetry with minimal errors or rework
Meet production deadlines consistently
Maintain safe work habits and understand out safety protocols and procedure.
Work efficiently while protecting finished products and materials
Pay: $25.00 – $30.00 per hour
