A well‑established organization in the community engagement and events space is seeking a Marketing Coordinator to provide additional support during a busy project period. With several high‑visibility community events planned for the summer, this is an exciting short‑term opportunity for a creative and energetic marketing professional looking to jump into a fast‑paced environment.
Your New Role
As the Marketing Coordinator, you will support event planning, onsite execution, and digital marketing efforts. Working closely with the Marketing Specialist and broader marketing team, you’ll help build community presence, capture engaging content, and ensure seamless event delivery.
This position requires onsite presence from Monday to Thursday at a central Toronto office or event locations, with weekend event coverage expected throughout the contract.
Key Responsibilities
- Support planning and day‑of coordination for multiple community events beginning in July
- Assist in digital marketing initiatives to drive community participation and event attendance
- Act as a community ambassador during events, engaging with attendees and enhancing brand presence
- Capture real‑time social content, including Instagram Stories using GIFs, text, and simple animations
- Take candid photography using a DSLR camera (training provided if needed)
- Conduct basic layout and framing checks for social media content using Canva, Figma, or similar tools
- Coordinate logistics such as vendor communication, signage placement, and attendee registration
- Provide administrative support including uploading event photos and occasional data entry
- Collaborate closely with the Director of Marketing, Marketing Specialist, and Communications Specialist
What You’ll Need to Succeed
- Experience in marketing, events, or a related creative environment
- Strong communication skills with high energy and an outgoing personality
- Ability to work onsite 4 days per week and support weekend events
- Experience creating social media content, especially real‑time Instagram Stories
- Familiarity with Canva, Figma, or equivalent visual tools for simple content polishing
- Comfort using a DSLR camera (training available)
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment and manage multiple moving pieces
- Access to a car and valid driver’s license preferred (some locations require travel outside Toronto)
- Adobe Creative Suite skills
- Prior experience in a professional marketing or events setting
