We are only minutes to crystal clear lakes like; Lake Coeur d’Alene, Hayden Lake, and Lake Pend Oreille – an outdoor paradise. At StanCraft Boat Co. we build and maintain luxury, custom African Mahogany boats. We are also an authorized sales and service dealership for MasterCraft, Centurion, and Formula boats. Our team works on virtually every type of boat; inboard, outboard, and sterndrive applications.
Job Description
The StanCraft Marine Mechanic/Technician is responsible for exceptional customer service to our customers using excellent, in-depth knowledge of StanCraft policies, procedures, and industry standards in mechanical boat maintenance and repair. Must have good communication, listening, and organizational skills with the ability to work well with our customers, and StanCraft employees to meet and exceed all expectations. An important responsibility of the Marine Mechanic/Technician, as a first and last contact when our customers arrive and depart the facilities, is to represent StanCraft in a positive and professional manner, while developing and maintaining excellent relationships with customers. Although safety and delivering exceptional customer service is top priorities, many daily tasks include repair, testing, researching problems and solutions, conducting inspections and test drives, maintaining and reconciling service orders and records, and insuring accurate billing of labor.
Qualifications
· High School Diploma or GED
· Valid State issued Driver’s License
· Previous Marine Mechanic experience – required
· Knowledge of Marine Shop equipment
· Pass Drug and Alcohol testing and submit to random drug test when required
· Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills

Responsibilities and Duties
· Know and comply with all StanCraft and required polices and safety procedures
· Perform mechanical repair work on gasoline and marine engines, outboard motors, and related marine equipment and systems
· Test engine, transmission, propeller, and related systems to diagnose malfunctions, using various measuring instruments, gauges, and diagnostic equipment
· Installs and tests steering gear, electrical systems and accessories along with hardware, trim, and related components
· Consults with supervisor regarding installation or repair problems, sequence of operations, and time required to complete repair or installation
· Prepares repair orders (RO) by describing symptoms, problems, and causes discovered, as well as repairs and services required; obtaining approval signatures; entering RO into service database system
· Maintains customer rapport by explaining estimates and expected return of boat/vessel; obtaining customer’s approval of estimates; obtaining and providing contact telephone numbers; answering questions and concerns; arranging towing and temporary transportation
· Maintains boating records by recording problems and corrective actions planned.
· Determines problems and services by listening to customer’s description of symptoms; clarifying description of problems; conducting inspections; taking test drives; checking boat maintenance records; examining service schedules
