Salary Range: $110,000 – $120,000
Location: Toronto, In Person
The Manager of Student Academics reports to the Dean of Student Services to support academic wellness for all stakeholders (students, teachers and families) from JK through Grade 8. The Manager of Student Academics assists the Principal in fulfilling the Mission Statement of The Leo Baeck Day School. This is a full-time administrative position at The Leo Baeck Day School.
Student Services Department:
- Will meet regularly with the Dean of Student Services and will report on all of the following responsibilities
- Oversee the Student Services Department team
- Coordinate weekly team meetings
- Support teachers with differentiation of curriculum, lesson planning and accommodating assessments
- Create, assign and monitor schedules for the Student Services teachers
- Provide direct support when necessary (i.e. math, language, Hebrew)
- Oversee OHIP-funded speech, OT, PT and/or nursing services
- Support Dean of Student Services by setting and monitoring academic caseloads (remedial and enrichment)
- Work with student services teachers to plan and organize enrichment opportunities for classroom teachers
- Review and monitor benchmark assessment data
- Coordinate and/or support and supervise student assessments requiring accommodations
IEPs and Growth Plans:
- Make arrangements for and monitor all students receiving any form of support from Student Services
- Initiate and review Growth Plans for every student requiring some form of support
- Support teachers to complete and ensure communication of Growth Plans to families
- Together with the Dean of Student Services, create and monitor IEPs
- Provide regular updates to IEP families
- Work with teachers to ensure IEPs are being implemented
- Support students of concern and families with learning profiles and needs
Other Administrative Duties:
- Attend and lead student information meeting
- Non-Tenure Teacher Evaluations related to the Department
- Coordinating alumni and other volunteers
- Read and edit progress and final reports
