Reporting to the Director of Health Services, the Manager of Health Services – Long Term Care Administration is responsible for providing leadership in the delivery of quality resident care within the Personal Care Home. The role includes implementation and evaluation of regional policies, allocation and monitoring of budgeted resources, human resource management, quality improvement, risk mitigation, education support, research, and applying lean methodology to achieve highly efficient and effective processes.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in the relevant clinical area within the last 5 years.
- Minimum of 2 years in health care management preferred.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
- A suitable combination of post‑secondary education and health‑care management experience relative to the position may be considered.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
- Current active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba/College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Manitoba.
Qualifications & Skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of theory, practice and research in geriatric care.
- Knowledge of an integrated health‑care system and standards of care.
- Knowledge of quality improvement, risk management, patient safety initiatives and lean methodology.
- Demonstrated leadership and innovative action skills.
- Ability to understand and communicate the multiple components of an integrated system.
- Effective collaboration, negotiation and conflict‑resolution skills.
- Sensitivity to the needs of a diverse population and ability to adjust interactions appropriately.
- Adaptability and willingness to change behaviour and opinion in accordance with best practices across different environments and cultures.
- Problem‑solving ability in complex, rapidly changing situations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to continuous learning and knowledge transfer.
- Adherence to the organization’s values and ethical standards.
- Ability to respect confidentiality across paper, electronic and other formats.
- Computer literacy in common software programs.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence, an all‑purpose insured vehicle and liability insurance of at least $1,.
- Proficiency in both official languages is essential for bilingual positions.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the role.
- Adherence to organizational policies and procedures.
- Availability for occasional evenings, nights and weekends as necessary.
- No exposure to hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions.
