Our client is seeking a Manager, Financial Reporting to lead financial reporting activities across a diverse portfolio of real estate and investment entities. This role is responsible for overseeing financial reporting, month-end and year-end processes, audit coordination, and continuous improvement initiatives within a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented CPA with strong technical accounting knowledge, leadership experience, and the ability to provide valuable financial insights to senior leadership and stakeholders.
Your success will be defined by your ability to:
Oversee full-cycle accounting and financial reporting across multiple real estate entities, partnerships, and investment holding companies while ensuring accuracy and compliance with ASPE and/or IFRS standards
Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reporting processes including consolidations, reconciliations, accruals, journal entries, audit preparation, and tax support requirements
Coordinate with auditors, lenders, tax advisors, and other external partners while maintaining strong financial controls and reporting accuracy across the organization
Monitor property and investment performance including NOI, cash flow, occupancy metrics, recoveries, and capital expenditures while supporting budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
Assist with acquisitions, dispositions, refinancing, due diligence activities, lender reporting, and covenant compliance requirements
Support and mentor accounting staff while helping strengthen internal controls, reporting processes, accounting policies, and overall team performance
Identify opportunities for automation, reporting improvements, process efficiencies, and ERP/system enhancements across the business
Provide meaningful financial insights, analysis, and recommendations to executive leadership and investors to support strategic planning and long-term portfolio growth
Contribute to special projects, corporate initiatives, and cross-functional collaboration as the organization continues to expand
Your strengths include:
CPA or CFA designation with 5-8+ years of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience
Strong background in real estate, investment management, private equity, or multi-entity accounting environments
Solid understanding of ASPE and/or IFRS reporting standards, consolidations, and partnership accounting
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/accounting systems
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines within a fast-paced and evolving environment
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and leadership levels
Leadership experience with the ability to mentor teams and support process improvement initiatives within a growing organization
