minds to join our best-in-class Aecon community! What is the opportunity? Assist management with the sourcing and hiring process for the Safety department Provide site specific
safety training
and orientation to workers, owners and clients Develop and train supervisors and staff on the Health, Safety and Environmental Manual Review project plans and project sites before work commences, identifying safety-related risks Inspect active project sites to evaluate ongoing work conditions to guarantee compliance with Occupational Health and Safety standards Liaise with external parties such as government inspectors, sub-contractors, and general public Work with
project management
teams and field workers to implement and devise solutions to safety-related issues on project sites Work with
senior management
to create plans for emergency procedures Ensure subcontractors and employees comply with safety standards Represent Aecon at meetings with stakeholders and other organizations on issues regarding workplace health and safety matters Other duties as assigned What you bring to the team;
Minimum 5 years’ experience coordinating and managing health and safety for industrial, mining and infrastructure projects. Knowledge of Construction projects with a solid understanding of the Occupation Health and Safety Act (“OHSA”) Bachelor’s degree, Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) or Canadian Registered Safety Technician (CRST) and, Certificate of
Recognition
(COR) Auditor National
Construction Safety
