Position Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Facilities and IT, the Maintenance Worker 1 (Painter) will perform minor wall repair and painting tasks in support of a painting plan at Edmonton Chinatown Care Centre. Work may need to be occasionally scheduled during evening hours or weekends in order to minimize disruption to site activities. Experience with wall repair, containment and hoarding and painting is an asset. The painter needs to be comfortable working in a care setting and around elderly people. A clear vulnerable sector check is required.

The incumbent also acts as a role model and ambassador for the Mission and Values of LCC.

Qualifications

Formal Education:

Grade 12 Diploma
Effective verbal and written communication (English) skills.
Experience in working with the elderly in a health care environment
Customer service experience
Knowledge/experience in commercial laundry procedures

Experience:

Experience working with the elderly is long term care facility preferred.

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Experience doing minor wall repair and painting is an asset.
