Maintenance Technician
Vahala Foam – Elkhart, IN
Vahala Foam, a leading foam fabricator serving Elkhart County and surrounding areas, is seeking an experienced and motivated Head of Maintenance to lead and support all maintenance operations within our manufacturing facility.
The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills who can oversee preventative maintenance programs, minimize equipment downtime, and ensure safe and efficient plant operations.
Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate all maintenance activities for production and auxiliary equipment
Perform and oversee preventative and corrective maintenance according to schedules
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
Maintain building systems and facility upkeep
Ensure all maintenance work is completed safely and efficiently
Manage maintenance records, parts inventory, and supply ordering
Work closely with production teams to minimize downtime and improve equipment performance
Train and support maintenance staff as needed
Promote and enforce safe work practices throughout the facility
Qualifications
Strong electrical troubleshooting background
Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics
Knowledge of production equipment maintenanceBuilding maintenance experience preferred
Skilled with hand and power tools
Strong leadership and communication skills
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
Excellent attendance and reliability required
Manufacturing maintenance experience strongly preferred
