POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Maintenance Technician at Omex Manufacturing has a broad understanding of automated manufacturing equipment including GMAW robotic welding cells, resistance welding systems, automated assembly equipment, inspection equipment, robotics, visions systems, and various sensing technologies. The technician supports production by troubleshooting equipment issues, making appropriate adjustments to fixtures, tooling, and processes within their defined scope of work, and ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently.
DUTIES OF THE JOB:
- Troubleshoot and resolve automation-related issues, including sensor faults, robot recovery and touch-up, machine alarms, basic electrical problems, and minor mechanical issues.
- Maintain, adjust and verify welding fixtures and tooling to ensure stable production and consistent part quality.
- Review and adjust GMAW and resistance welding parameters (within defined limits) to maintain weld integrity, process stability, and production output.
- Perform tooling, fixture, and equipment changeovers as required.
- Execute preventative and predictive maintenance on assigned equipment, welding fixtures, jigs, and automation components to reduce unplanned downtime.
- Contribute to and maintain an up-to-date electronic maintenance log consisting of troubleshooting notes, corrective actions made, MRO inventory consumed, etc.
- Provide input for equipment & tooling modifications.
- Participate in and provide on the job training with other maintenance and tooling team members including apprentices.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Maintain a tidy and organized area.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A technical diploma in a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of technical education and work experience.
- 3-5 years of relevant, practical experience.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Available for shift work and overtime as required.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and sound decision making.
- Ability to communicate effectively, verbal and written.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork.
- Previous experience with Fanuc, Yaskawa, ABB, and Fronius MAG robotic welding systems is considered an asset.
Additional Qualifications:
- Previous experience with preventative maintenance software would be considered an asset
- Previous experience in a high-volume stamping and assembly environment would be considered an asset

- 10 hours shifts 4 x a week – Afternoon Shift
- 8 hours shifts 5 x a week – Day Shift
