We are growing! AGF Steel is seeking a Machine Operator at our Ottawa location for the day shift.

Main Responsibilities:
Operate overhead crane, bar bending, and sheer machines (training provided);
Reading and following instructions on the bar lists provided to fabricate rebar based on specific specifications;
Assisting equipment operators in material handling;
Affixing tags to fabricated bundles for identification purposes;
Assist in other assigned tasks as required;
Assisting in housekeeping duties for the yard and shop.
Requirements:
1-2 years of experience in a similar role in manufacturing;
Experience in operating an overhead crane (an asset);
Basic math/measurement skills (an asset);
Ability to learn various types of manufacturing equipment;
Ability to work physically – lift/move up to 50lbs;
Willingness and capacity to work outside in varying weather conditions, and perform physical work;
Multi-tasking and a strong capacity for teamwork.
