THE OPPORTUNITY
Conduct pre-start safety inspections and visual inspections on equipment and food contact surfaces.
Retrieve materials required for production using pump carts, walkies and/or forklifts.
Enter materials used into ERP system, verify LPNs, scan materials, calculate weights used, and print labels.
Operator bowl chopper, review program settings, and troubleshoot equipment issues.
Unload the meat into the buggies, apply lids and labels, and move to staging area.
Record start and ends times of each production run.
Complete full washdowns on equipment and buggies as required for product changes.
Unload frozen meat unto racks and move into defrost area.
Complete housekeeping of work area including cleaning floors, returning materials back to storage, and removing garbage and corrugate.
Complete any required QA documentation.
Assist other operators in the processing department.
Responsible for maintaining food safety standards in work responsibilities and report food safety issues to QA immediately.
Work in a safe manner in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act by reporting all hazards, accidents, incidents or near misses to the Supervisor.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
THE REQUIREMENTS
1 year experience operating production machines
Read, write, and communicate (English)
Basic mathematical skills and computer skills
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
Must be mechanically inclined
Ability to work effectively both as an individual and a team member
Ability to work in a cold environment
Must have good organizational and problem solving skills
Must be able to lift 60-80lbs
