Job Description

SCHEDULE: This position is for the 2nd shift

SUMMARY:

Sets up and operates a variety of automatic or semi-automatic machines used in the production of the company’s product. Works from process sheets or written/verbal instructions given by supervisor to perform production tasks. Checks and inspects operation against predetermined tolerances.

RESPONSIBLITIES and ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Perform MIG Welding
Set up and operate MIG welders to prescribed weld recipes.
Set up and operate Stud welders, TIG welder Plasma Cutter.
Set up and operate hoist, cranes and a variety of deburring equipment (hand sanders, strip sander, finishing mills etc.)
Grind and buff any imperfections.
Process work orders on dispatch through SAP (Systems Applications and Product) system or as required/instructed.
Conduct Check-do-check process and complete daily reports.
Troubleshoot any quality issues and proactively identify solutions.
Accurately report task and times in Factory Talk Production Centre (FTPC) related to work orders and Critical to Quality (CTQ’s).
Flexibility and adaptability to assume other roles and support other job families as required.
May be required to assist, instruct and provide training to other employees.
Participates in activities to increase job knowledge, including required training and certifications, job rotation programs and training and coaching of other employees.
Participate in Behavioural Based Safety Training and contribute to the program.
Participate in LEAN/Six Sigma Training and contribute to and make recommendations for process improvements and LEAN activities.
Performs work in accordance with job -specific training procedures, follows work aids (DWIs, prints etc.,) and produces work that consistently meets quality standards.
Ensure tasks are conducted in accordance with applicable employment, environmental, health, safety, quality, and legislation and or regulations (federal, provincial, ISO 14001, ISO 9001, etc.), as well as Rockwell Automation policies and procedures, 5S requirements and standards of business conduct.
Creates an optimal work environment by establishing and maintaining positive and respectful work relationships.
All other duties as required and assigned by supervision.

SKILLS:

Mechanical and technical aptitude
Problem solving
Blueprint reading
Reading and understanding written instructions, i.e., CSPs and DWIs
Utilizing a computer to view, log, and/or find appropriate job-related information, i.e., SAP, FTPC
Interact with business system computer software and machinery efficiently
Self-directed in a team environment
Safe use of manual tools and, power tools and machinery
Re-Tooling/Component Handling
Understanding of forming principles such as bend allowance, radius etc.

EXPERIENCE and EDUCATION:

Level 4: 4 Years Related Experience, High School Education/GED

PREREQUISITES:

Must pass pre-test for CWB certification administered in-house.

ACCEPTS ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Maintain CWB certification to standards W47.1 and D1.3
Must be able to lift 35lbs
Meet the requirement of Safety, Attendance and Code of Conduct policies
Consistently behaves in accordance with Rockwell Automation standards of ethics and integrity.
Walk/stand for long periods of time
Strong Mechanical/Electrical aptitude
Interact with business system computer software and machinery efficiently
