Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Yard Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency of our warehouse operations. This position involves various tasks related to materials handling, shipping and receiving, and equipment operation. The Yard Worker will ensure that all activities are conducted safely and in compliance with OSHA standards while contributing to a productive work environment.
Duties
- Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts for loading and unloading materials.
- Manage shipping and receiving tasks, ensuring that all incoming and outgoing shipments are processed efficiently.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment to ensure proper mechanical function and safety compliance.
- Handle materials with care, including heavy lifting and moving pallets using pallet jacks.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency within the yard.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow and address any operational challenges.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines as outlined by OSHA regulations.
Qualifications
- Previous warehouse experience is preferred, with a strong understanding of warehouse management systems.
- Experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, or similar machinery is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with materials handling techniques and best practices for shipping & receiving operations.
- Mechanical knowledge is beneficial for troubleshooting equipment issues as they arise.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks regularly throughout the shift.
- Experience in construction or related fields is a plus, demonstrating versatility in skills.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Pay: $15.00 – $17.00 per hour
