Lake Charles Care Center is a preferred employer located in the heart of Lake Charles. The recently remodeled community offers long-term care and memory care, as well as short-term rehabilitation services in The Lodge, a separate community located adjacent to the main building. We are currently seeking an experienced LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) to join our team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Experience in long-term care preferred.
Full-time positions available:
- 6a – 6p – $27.00/hour; $5,500 Sign-on Bonus plus monthly bonus opportunity
- 6p – 6a – $30.00/hour; $5,500 Sign-on Bonus plus monthly bonus opportunity
Responsibilities
- Record a patient’s medical history accurately
- Perform all tasks assigned to a Licensed Practical Nurse
- Monitor and observe residents’ condition and document
- Supervise Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) in activities of daily living
- Knowledge of medication administration and infection control
- Administer injections, prescribed medications and assist with other basic medical care tasks
- Provide emotional and psychological support when needed
- Communicate with patients’ family or friends to provide education and comfort
Skills
- Current license as an LPN in the state of Louisiana
- Proven experience as LPN or similar role
- CPR certification
- Willingness to provide quality customer service in keeping with facility standards of practice
- Willingness to comply with and uphold the facility’s vision, mission statement, standards of practice and policies/procedures
- Demonstrate sensitivity to residents’ needs
- Demonstrate the ability to work in a team-oriented environment
- Demonstrate initiative regarding job duties and assignments
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate and able to handle stress
