What you bring to the team

Mandatory requirements

  • You are registered and in good standing in Ontario as one of the following:Registered Nurse, Registered Dietitian, Registered Physiotherapist, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist, or Speech-Language Pathologist, with no restrictions on practice.
  • You hold a valid Class G driver’s licence (or Ontario-recognized equivalent) to conduct field work.
  • You are willing to travel extensively and work outside regular business hours.

This job offer is conditional upon:

  • Successfully completing the Provincial Offences Officer training program.
  • Successfully completing the Inspector Certification process within the required timeframe.

For the BILINGUAL position, you must be proficient in English and possess oral and written French language skills at the advanced level.

Please note: The position requires extensive travel within the province. You may also be required to work at locations other than the head office or satellite offices.

Investigative, Analytical and Organizational Skills

You:

  • have demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills to assess evidence from clinical files, policies, financial/administrative data, surveys, and on-site observations.
  • prioritize resident health care issues and enforce legislation and ministry policy.
  • are skilled in developing and executing inspection plans, managing documents, and organizing information.
  • have experience with core inspection functions (e.g., interviewing, document review, observing care, and risk assessment).
  • can work independently and perform effectively under pressure in a high-volume environment.

Communication Skills

You:

  • can write clear, detailed inspection reports and communicate legislative requirements effectively.
  • are skilled in presenting information to diverse stakeholders, including LTC operators, residents, health care providers, and the public.

Leadership, Interpersonal, Problem-Solving and Negotiation Skills

You:

  • exercise sound judgment, discretion, and political acuity when determining actions for non compliant homes.
  • foster cooperation and resolve sensitive issues with LTC operators and health care partners while maintaining professionalism.
  • have demonstrated leadership and strong interpersonal skills.

Health Care Knowledge and Experience

You:

  • possess experience in long-term care, health care, or social services settings.
  • can interpret and apply relevant legislation, clinical guidelines, policies, and procedures governing LTC operations.

Computer Skills

  • You are proficient in Microsoft Office and skilled in using word processing, database, and spreadsheet applications to prepare reports and correspondence
