About The RoleThe Logistics Supervisor provides leadership and direction for the Warehouse Department and is responsible for warehouse activities for all products produced in the facility including shipping, receiving, product supply, scheduling employees, sanitation, quality, safety, GMP, housekeeping and environmental services activities.
Job Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Manage warehousing and shipping activities; and operate forklifts when needed
Maintain and coordinate the load out schedule with in-house distribution and outside contractors.
Combine Capacity Planning, Production and Warehouse inputs and key transfer orders into system used to ship to inventory center
Tender loads to contracted carriers and sets pick up appointments
Make adjustments on inventory system as needed
Make certain all areas are clean and organized
Ensure product storage areas are at the highest GMP standards
First in / first out philosophy
Maintain forklift safety and certification requirements
Order pallets for Plant
Maintain reclaimed dough process
Monitor trash/recycling pick-up
Monitor all transactions activity for accuracy and timeliness of recordkeeping to ensure correct inventory position at all times
Establish, monitor and maintain an organized, safe and sanitary work environment in compliance with Company policies and other government regulations
Ensure full compliance with all quality assurance standards with focus on excellent housekeeping and overall cleanliness of products and work areas
Ensure proper rotation and traceability of all items including shipments, donations (surplus and non-standard but viable products), product loss and damage.
Walk plant several times a day, auditing and overseeing employees to ensure compliance
Manage and control expenses, including labor and overhead costs
Cooperate with all departments as a cross-functional change agent.
Perform weekly in-house audits ensuring every section of Plant is audited at least once per month; complete quality documents “shortcomings”
Move ingredients into production and move finished product out; assist in repairs when needed
The Person
Pivotal Experience & Expertise
2-3 years in a similar role in a manufacturing environment
Diploma in Business Management or Supply Chain or equivalent
