We are currently looking for a Logistics Specialist, Supplier Management based out of St. Thomas, ONOur mission has started. Volkswagen Group’s largest cell factory in St. Thomas will carry out all battery activities – from processing raw materials to developing a unified Volkswagen battery to managing the European and North American gigafactories. We are looking for a Logistics Specialist –Supplier Management to plan, implement, and optimize inbound supply chain processes for the PowerCo facility in St. Thomas, onboarding and collaborating closely with our material suppliers. Reporting temporarily to the Senior Finance Director & Head of PMO Company Ramp-Up, you will support and contribute to the PowerCo SE logistics team to achieve the objectives of the logistics rollout project at the Canadian facility.

This is a temporary flex hybrid model requiring 2 days in the St. Thomas office, subject to change based on the needs and nature of this project. During certain phases of the build, a more frequent onsite presence will be a requirement.Primary Responsibilities

Plan and implement an effective supplier management process for PowerCo Canada for our North American material suppliers.

Suggest and define local adaptations to inbound logistics processes and requirements for the St. Thomas facility, based on logistics standards and concepts provided by PowerCo SE headquarters.

Coordinate logistic audit activities for material suppliers.

Assess potential suppliers based on criteria such as reliability or logistics performance, considering the logistics process requirements and specifications.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and qualify suitable suppliers.

Process logistical specifications for potential suppliers and maintain logistical master data in the sourcing phase.

Logistical supplier onboarding, considering defined processes, pre-planned costs, investments, and deadlines as well as specified space plans, production programs and qualities.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with key material suppliers.

Facilitate regular communication and collaboration between internal stakeholders and suppliers.

Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure suppliers’ logistics performance.

Regularly monitor and evaluate supplier performance against established KPIs.

Analyze supplier costs and identify opportunities for cost optimization and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality and service levels.

Develop and implement logistics concepts for and with suppliers located in the St. Thomas supplier park in collaboration with purchasing and 3rd parties.

Assemble data and prepare forecasts of future material demands and share these with the material suppliers.
