Role:

The Logistics Planner is responsible for analyzing and managing one or more assigned Sysco Site’s Inbound Logistics network in support of our overall service and financial objectives. This includes optimizing the inbound supply chain to create the most efficient means of transportation to reduce freight expense and maximize profitability. Additionally, this role is tasked with the identification, analysis, and implementation of opportunities to increase Sysco controlled cases and shared loads across Sites, as well as promote service level and overall process improvements.

Role Responsibilities:

Coordinate and collaborate with the Houston based Inbound Logistics Planning team (NITC) for all designated pickups managed via Manhattan Transportation Management System (TMS).

Communicate applicable transport designations to the NITC Planner

Analyze and present new freight opportunities to increase site-controlled pickups.

Setup & implement new supplier pickup conversions / freight programs.

Review load consolidation opportunities to maximize efficiency and profitability.

Maximize overall load fill percentages on controlled inbound freight.

Optimize profitability on inbound controlled freight Logistics Earned Income (LEI)

Monitor and manage inbound carrier performance.

Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Merchandising and supply Chain Teams

Provide Over, Short and Damaged (OS&D) reporting to carrier and Merchandising team within 48 hours.
