As a Logistics Kaizen Engineer, you will be at the forefront of driving continuous improvement within our supply chain operations. Your expertise will empower us to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize logistics processes across various functions including inventory management, transportation planning, and warehouse distribution. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement innovative solutions that elevate our operational performance and support our commitment to excellence.

Job Summary:

Analyze or interpret logistics data involving customer service, forecasting, procurement, manufacturing, inventory, transportation, labeling or warehousing.

Essential Functions:

  • Monitors customer packaging to ensure changes are updated in Oracle correctly
  • Participates in ECO approval to ensure logistics information in Oracle is updated correctly for customer shipments
  • Performs analysis of items going through repack.
  • Takes improvement actions on the items going through repack.
  • Review shipping location vs manufacturing location to reduce internal freight costs, reduce lead times and improve efficiency
  • Performs analysis on picking relabels, identify areas for reduction/elimination
  • Participates & performs system improvement/change testing
  • Customer & Internal Complaint Handling Investigation
  • Develops and implements procedures, practices, time studies, workflow, parts flow, sequence of operation and work arrangement to improve expediency, accuracy/efficiency.
  • Identify, test & implement Kaizen improvements for Logistics Department
  • Follow the documented Quality Management System documented functions
  • Support department & KPIs
  • Assist with system audits to ensure data input is accurate and timely
  • Assist in inventory process including, but not limited to, physical inventory and cycle counting
  • Promote excellent cleanliness and organization (5S)
  • Ensure effective communication with Internal Departments
  • Promote associate engagement through Kaizen, GNNP & round table meetings
  • Other tasks as assigned by management

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain or related field, or equivalent education or experience

Skills/Experience/Requirements:

  • At least three years’ experience managing projects in a Logistics environment
  • Must have knowledge of production & distribution/warehousing process
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to work logically and systematically, with good time management
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills plus the ability to think laterally while also offering creative solutions
  • Excellent interpersonal / communication skills to interact effectively with customers, vendors and other personnel
  • Must have ability to motivate and lead others in a positive way
  • Flexibility and the ability to manage change
  • Ability to work well as part of a team
  • Negotiation and analytical skills
  • Must be able to maintain excellent attendance
  • Excellent computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office products
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Must be able to perform mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and averages
  • Strong ability to problem solve, establish root cause and countermeasures
  • Forklift certified (Internal Training)
  • Behave in a positive manner that enhances the success of the company
  • Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 55 pounds
