About the Role

Reporting to the Field Operations Manager, the Logistics Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting surgical procedures by managing the movement, accuracy, and readiness of surgical kits (loaner sets).

This is a hands-on, fast-paced logistics role within our Surgical Kits team, where attention to detail and strong coordination skills support operating room readiness, helping procedures run smoothly by ensuring surgical kits are accurate, complete, and ready when needed.

You will be responsible for tracking, preparing, and reconciling orthopaedic surgical instruments and implants as they move between hospitals, sales representatives, and our distribution centre.

How You Will Make and Impact: 

  • Receive and process incoming surgical kits, verifying all instruments and implants are returned complete and in proper condition
  • Investigate and resolve missing or discrepant inventory, escalating issues as needed
  • Review surgical schedules to prioritize the preparation and turnaround of loaner sets
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure surgical kits are picked, packed, and shipped on time for upcoming procedures
  • Return inventory and organize in designated storage areas to ensure easy access and availability when required
  • Maintain real-time inventory accuracy by reconciling physical stock with system records
  • Communicate proactively with sales representatives, hospital staff, Zimmer Biomet Canada, and logistics partners regarding inventory status and issues
  • Support ongoing improvements and special projects within the Surgical Kits (Loaner) team

  • Post-secondary education in logistics, supply chain, or a related field an asset
  • Experience in logistics, warehouse, or supply chain operations (medical device experience) required. 
  • Strong attention to detail — you take pride in accuracy and organization
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Comfortable using technology and systems (Microsoft Office; ERP/logistics systems are an asset)
  • Physically able to lift and move equipment and supplies (up to 50 lbs)
