LOGISTICS CLERK I
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
Utilize the Department of State’s Integrated Logistics Management System (ILMS) to initiate and track the movement of employee shipments. Keep personnel updated on the status of shipments. Advise personnel of permanent storage limitations. Create emails or ILMS notices to obtain forwarding approval. Ensure that enroute notifications are sent to provide shipment arrival status visibility. Review service provider reports to ensure that all documentation is completed in a timely manner. Create shipment documents utilizing ILMS to ensure that shipments are effectively managed. Validate the accuracy of transportation documents and confirm electronic transmission to service provider. Utilize ILMS reporting tools to track shipment status and ensure that shipment record comments are added.
Manage incoming calls and greet visitors to address shipment inquiries. Keep management advised of problems encountered with service providers. Route automated transportation and travel inquiries and emails to internal and external recipients.
QUALIFICATIONS
The incumbent must have:
- high school diploma or equivalent;
- secret security clearance;
- knowledge of the transportation/logistics industry to include a basic understanding of the principles of transportation.
- ability to use a keyboard for data input with a typing speed of 40 words per minute or above; and
- familiarity with use of spreadsheet and statistical graph/chart applications to fulfill report requirements.
