Cascadia Metals is actively seeking qualified candidates for the position of Loader/Floater at our Delta branch. This role is permanent, full-time, and will involve working afternoon shifts from 3:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., four days a week, for ten hours.
Responsibilities:
Loading trucks from small customer pick-ups to full B-train trailers
Unloading trucks with coil, sheet and site supplies
Unload rail cars and containers
Operate a forklift to move material within the warehouse and yard
Organizing and sorting material for loading and space optimization
Scanning loads with an RF scanner
Reading paperwork to ensure the accuracy of the load
Double-checking loads for accuracy
Poly wrap trucks
Other duties as required
Requirements:
Must have forklift experience and license
Must be reliable and punctual
Crane experience preferred but not mandatory
Steel handling experience preferred but not mandatory
Flexibility: able to multi-task and work as part of a team
Ability to read orders and complete basic paperwork
