Overview
We are seeking a motivated and energetic Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our culinary team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing delicious, high-quality meals that meet safety standards and dietary needs. Your culinary skills will help ensure our residents enjoy nutritious and appealing dishes in a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and cook meals according to established recipes and menu plans
- Assist with food prep tasks such as slicing, dicing, and portioning ingredients using proper knife skills and slicing techniques
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety management standards
- Follow safety standards in production to ensure a safe working environment for all team members
- Support meal preparation for special events or catering needs as required
- Ensure food handling practices comply with health regulations and safety standards in the food industry
- Collaborate with team members to deliver timely service while maintaining high-quality food presentation
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant, or culinary environments
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques, including slicing, cooking, and meal assembly
- Familiarity with safety standards in production and food handling procedures
- Strong knife skills and slicing techniques essential for efficient prep work
- Experience with dietary department or dietary aide roles is a plus
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting
- Commitment to food safety, cleanliness, and teamwork in accordance with industry best practices
- Experience in senior living is preferred, but not required
- Availability daytimes during the week and on weekends is required. You won’t work every weekend, but we need the availability.
Pay: $20.00 – $21.00 per hour
