Flame & Smith is a sustainably-minded restaurant that embraces the exciting art of woodfire cooking and the community that surrounds it. Located in Bloomfield, Prince Edward County, we are a fairly new restaurant opened in July 2018. Starting our 4th season is different than we planned, with reduced capacity and extra precautions due to the COVID-19 regulations. We are looking to build a great team this season, with flexible hours and the possibility for permanent employment into the fall/winter.
We carefully source local ingredients to be used in a thoughtful and unique form of cooking, while providing our guests with high quality dining experiences through a welcoming and personable service. We cultivate strong and meaningful relationships with community, farmers, partners and suppliers and are passionate about being part of the County’s cultural fabric.
About the Position
We are looking for experienced cooks and untapped talent. People with a positive attitude that are eager to learn.
Responsibilities and Qualifications include:
The desire to manage and work all stations available in our kitchen. (wood burning oven, rotisserie, baking, garde manger, wood fire grill and plancha just to name a few)
- Works well in a team environment.
- Performs well in a high paced, culinary focus based culture.
- Motivates others by setting the example.
Required certification:
- Experience is an asset but most important a healthy attitude and working in a team focused environment are a must.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00-$20.00 per hour
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Prince Edward, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
Experience:
- Culinary: 1 year (preferred)
- cooking: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Food Safe, SafeCheck, Food Handler or equivalent (preferred)
