The Role
The Lifeguard plays an important role, providing quality leisure programs and ensuring the safety of military members and their families. The role includes teaching safety rules, preventing accidents, intervening in emergency situations and maintaining a safe, enjoyable aquatic environment.

Qualifications Needed
Education, Certifications and Licenses

An acceptable combination of education, training and experience will be considered.

Current National Lifeguard Service (NLS) certificate.

Current CPR and Standard First Aid certification.

Experience

Experience dealing with the public, including children.

Experience performing lifeguard duties.

Experience with cash handling.

Competencies

Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.

Skills and Abilities

Observational skills.

Communication skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Ability to react and respond in emergency situations.

Language Requirements

Bilingual essential.

Reading:
Functional.

Writing:
Functional.

Oral:
Functional.

Other Information

This is an on‑site position with an assigned work location.

Perform moderate lifting, carrying, pulling and/or pushing (10–50 lbs).

High degree of focus required.

The successful candidate will be required to complete a Vulnerable Sector Check.
