Full job description
Matrix Metal is hiring for a lead hand fabricator/welder.
The main focus of our shop is custom fabrication of miscellaneous metal items and structures and erection of structural steel items .
Please have a minimum of 10-15 years of shop fabrication/welding experience before applying.
We are a CWB-certified certified company in Smaw and FCAW and you will be required to get certified as well. Either with a tacking ticket or several positions.
You will be expected to be certified before your probationary period is complete.

Please be ready to work in a fast paced environment. Have a strong ability to interpret drawings and efficiently layout, fabricate, weld, and finish items correctly. We have a high standard of quality and you will be expected to maintain that quality and sometimes guide or discuss with others.
Experience welding and polishing light gauge stainless steel material, Mig/Tig welding of Aluminum, and Stick/mig/flux core welding of Steel are also required skills.
Please be prepared to fabricate custom and complex items in our shop or move material using forklifts. Capable of lifting up to 50lbs at a time in the shop or on site. Site work is part of our work scope and a clean driving record is needed so that you can drive our crew van.
The shift is 4/10s monday to Thursday 6am to 4pm. We may be able to offer a 5/8s shift if its more suitable for you. We offer competitive wages and benefits for our employees and there is often some overtime. Being a smaller shop that is growing fast there is also a lot of opportunity to advance in a short period of time.
We are a custom metal shop working on things like guard rails, handrails, Stairs, misc. Stainless items, Smaller Structural assemblies, ladders and platforms, Carts, ramps, racks, etc.
We have a no BS get it done properly mentality and pay well for exceptional skills and abilities.
