The City of Coquitlam is seeking a Lead Hand for its Urban Forestry Operations team. This regular full-time position reports to the Natural Areas Supervisor and involves supervising seasonal labourers.

Your role will include invasive species removal, monitoring forested areas, and community stewardship projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement forest management activities effectively

• Supervise a small crew of seasonal labourers

• Conduct invasive plant species removals

• Monitor and restore forest habitats in the community

• Enter data related to forestry monitoring activities

Requirements:

• Knowledge of ecosystems and plant species identification

• Experience supervising a crew in related fields

• Diploma in biology, forestry, or natural resource management

• Pesticide Applicator Certification or willingness to obtain

• Valid BC Driver’s License with satisfactory records
