Job Description:
Cook Outdoor Contracting, LLC is seeking a dedicated and hardworking landscape worker to join our team. As a landscaper, you will play a crucial role in supporting our landscaping, tree service, and snow/ice management operations. You will be tasked with periodic commercial landscape maintenance such as mowing, edging, spring/fall cleanups, mulch installation, raking, shoveling/digging, spreading of soft materials, minor chainsaw work, and more. You will also be responsible for safely operating light duty equipment such as mini skid steers, side by sides, lawn mowers, weed-whackers, backpack blowers, power pruners, chainsaws, , stump grinders, snow plows, salt spreaders, and company vehicles in general.
Responsibilities:
- Landscape maintenance duties such as mowing, edging, cleanups, mulch and soft material installation, wheel-barrowing, shoveling/digging, raking, plowing and salting, and more.
- Minor tree service duties including ground hand work, minor chainsaw use, raking and brush moving, and more.
- Safely operating/driving company equipment and vehicles, once trained.
- Report directly to the Crew Foreman for tasks and instruction.
- Maintain a clean and organized worksite.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
- Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate tasks and ensure efficient workflow.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Drive company vehicles to and from jobsites safely, must be able to pass DOT physical.
- Operating truck and trailer skillfully, including backing of trailers and operating a dump trailer/dump truck.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Must have at least 2 years of outdoor work experience.
- Commercial snow plowing experience is highly preferred.
- Physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy objects (up to 75 pounds).
- Reliable transportation EVERY DAY Monday-Friday, with some weekend work available on a case-by-case basis.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn is a must.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of safety practices and procedures on work sites.
- Class A CDL is not required, but will lead to higher pay.
