We’re looking for a Hardscape / Landscape Crew Manager – Foreman to lead a crew of 2 to 4 team members in the field, executing both hardscape installations and landscape enhancement projects. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in quality work, leads from the front, and wants to grow into bigger leadership opportunities over time.

Position Summary
The Hardscape / Landscape Crew Manager – Foreman leads a field crew in the successful execution of projects including patios, retaining walls, walkways, plantings, mulch installations, and bed renovations. This person is responsible for daily crew leadership, jobsite organization, production pace, safety, quality control, and communication from mobilization through final walkthrough.
Success in this role means the crew works safely, efficiently, and professionally, projects stay on schedule, quality stays high, and clients have a great experience.

- Deliver quality hardscape and landscape installations to company standards
- Keep projects organized, on pace, and aligned with budget and schedule
- Communicate clearly with managers, sales team members, and clients
- Train less experienced team members and help raise the standard of the crew
- Represent the Upscale brand professionally on every jobsite
Essential ResponsibilitiesCrew Leadership & Management
- Direct daily work for hardscape and landscape crews based on job priorities and project phases
- Assign tasks based on crew skill level and maintain proper task pacing throughout the day
- Train and mentor apprentices and crew members in installation techniques, tool use, safety, and productivity
- Promote a team culture built on accountability, professionalism, and safety
- Track time and production using Upscale’s digital field management system
Project Execution
- Execute hardscape tasks such as layout, excavation, base preparation, grading, drainage, and installation sequencing
- Execute landscape enhancement tasks such as planting, mulching, bed renovation, and site detailing
- Read and interpret site plans, elevations, layouts, and plant placement plans
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient jobsite from start to finish
- Operate and oversee equipment and tools including compactors, skid steers, mini excavators, laser levels, saws, wheelbarrows, and hand tools
Planning & Communication
- Review plans, material lists, and job details before mobilization
- Coordinate material staging, deliveries, tool readiness, and site preparation with the Production Manager
- Communicate daily with Production Managers and Sales regarding job progress, changes, challenges, and opportunities
- Adjust workflows in the field to stay on timeline and within labor expectations
- Document progress with photos, field notes, and reports
Client Relations
- Serve as the on-site point of contact for clients and property managers during projects
- Communicate professionally and confidently to represent the Upscale brand
- Identify upsell opportunities, client requests, and scope changes, and report them to project leadership
Safety & Equipment
- Enforce company safety standards and ensure PPE compliance at all times
- Conduct daily equipment and tool inspections and basic maintenance checks
- Monitor proper tool use, material handling, transport, excavation safety, and install practices
- Submit equipment usage and related field reports as required
QualificationsExperience
- 3 to 4+ years of hands-on experience in hardscape installation, landscape enhancements, or similar field construction work
- At least 1 year of leadership, crew lead, or foreman experience
- Strong understanding of base prep, drainage, grading, planting techniques, and jobsite flow
- Experience reading plans and managing field execution is preferred
- Experience with LMN or similar field software is a plus
Skills
- Strong crew leadership and jobsite communication
- Ability to manage task pacing, production expectations, and field quality
- Proficiency in hardscaping, planting, soil prep, equipment operation, and site organization
- Strong problem-solving, time management, and troubleshooting ability
- Spanish-English bilingual is a plus
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record and ability to meet company insurance requirements
- Ability to lift 75+ lbs regularly
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to work moderate overtime as needed

Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive hourly wage: $21.00 to $28.00 per hour – negotiable based on experience
