Job Title: In-House Landlord-Tenant Attorney

Established property management company seeking an experienced In-House Landlord-Tenant Attorney to oversee collections, non-payment, holdover, and eviction matters across our portfolio.
This role will work closely with ownership and property management to manage cases from start to finish, provide day-to-day legal guidance, and help ensure compliance with applicable NYC landlord-tenant laws and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee collections, non-payment, holdover, and eviction cases
- Draft and review rent demands, notices to cure, termination notices, and other legal notices
- Manage Housing Court matters from pre-litigation through resolution
- Advise property managers and ownership on landlord-tenant issues and legal strategy
- Coordinate with outside counsel, process servers, and internal staff
- Ensure compliance with Rent Stabilization, HSTPA, Good Cause Eviction, DHCR, and other applicable NYC housing laws
Qualifications:
- Experience in NYC landlord-tenant law
- Strong knowledge of Housing Court practice and procedure
- Experience handling eviction and collections matters
- Strong drafting, case management, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience as a landlord-side attorney
- Hands-on NYC Housing Court experience
- Experience advising property management companies or real estate owners
Pay: $62,430.35 – $82,141.93 per year
