Join the Ignatius Farm & Land team as a New Farmer Supports & Land Worker. Work outdoors, support community initiatives, and gain hands-on experience in agriculture and ecology.
This contract position, running from April 16th to November 30th, 2025, requires a commitment of 35-37.5 hours/week. You will engage with volunteers, care for the land, and support diverse projects at Ignatius Farm located just north of Guelph, Ontario. Your efforts will directly impact local ecosystems and food accessibility.
Key Responsibilities:
• Coordinate volunteer activities for agricultural projects
• Grow and manage seedlings for community gardens
• Maintain greenhouses, equipment, and infrastructure
• Assist in Community Orchard care and maintenance
• Provide technical support to aspiring new farmers
Requirements:
• Valid G2 or G Class Driver’s License
• Interest in agriculture, ecology, or horticulture
• Experience with motorized equipment preferred
• Ability to perform physically demanding work
• Initiative to work independently and collaboratively
