The Municipality of Brooke-Alvinston is an energetic community of roughly 2,500. Being part of the Brooke-Alvinston team is an opportunity to work in a small and energetic Municipality that provides outstanding amenities and facilities to our residents and visitors to the area. We are well known for the Service Club sponsored events like the Alvinston Pro Rodeo and the popular Alvinston Killer Bees Hockey Club. We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our Parks and Recreation team.

Position Overview

Reporting to the Manager of the Parks and Recreation Department, the successful candidate will be responsible for the safe day to day operation and maintenance of the Parks and Recreation facilities, grounds and public spaces including the Brooke-Alvinston-Inwood Community Centre Complex. The employee will assist in supervising the daily operation and maintenance of the arena including the refrigeration systems and municipal grounds. The position requires direct interaction with the general public in addition to event support. If you are passionate about contributing to the community, we encourage you to apply. Qualifications

Minimum Secondary School Diploma

Certificate in recreation, facility operations, parks or related field considered an asset.

Completion of basic refrigeration, ice making and maintenance (Certified Ice Technician) facility maintenance of buildings, turf management or related relevant courses would be considered an asset.

A valid Class “G” Ontario Driver’s License.

Knowledge of methods, procedures, principles and practices involved with maintenance and operation of parks and recreational facilities.
