We have an opening for a term maternity leave (up to 18 months) onsite position of KCCS Finance Assistant – maternity leave for 40 hours per week. The primary role of this position is to assist the Kelowna Christian Center Society (KCCS) Finance Department in the recording and reconciling of the financial details of the Society as needed.

As the KCCS Finance Assistant, – maternity leave your duties and responsibilities will include:

Lead the offering counts

Prepare offering deposits and all other Society deposits which include cash, cheques and the processing of credit card transactions and weekly bank deposits

Input Society contributions

Maintain donor database and when required, contact donors for updated information

Process Accounts Payable, which includes verifying G/L coding and authorization

Process Society Accounts Payable cheque runs Collate and distribute cheques accordingly

Receive and process Society revenue paid by credit card Reconcile EFT payments to backup documentation

Assist with input of financial information such as deposit entries, bank account transfers, interdepartmental transfers and journal transfers

Record bi-weekly utility invoice and payment batches

Record monthly Wire Transfers and Pre-Authorized invoice and payment batches

Record and post merchant fees Organize and scan documentation for corporate credit card reconciliations

Maintain and file financial documentation both hard copies and digital

Assist with yearly Charitable Tax Receipts Prepare offering deposit sheets and deposit bags for KCC and LCLC as needed

Request service for finance office equipment when required

Front desk reception coverage when needed We are looking for someone with the following

Qualifications & Skills:

Demonstrated commitment and lifestyle reflective of KCCS Foundational Beliefs2 – 3 years practical accounting and office experience would be an asset

Ability to

flexibility

to manage multiple tasks to ensure scheduled deadlines are met

Ability to

be discreet and maintain confidentiality

Ability to

work independently as well as a team

Must be

flexible, well organized and detailed oriented

Strong written and oral

communication skills

Proficiency with or willingness to learn Microsoft Office, and ability to learn and understand new software

What we offer:

40 hours per week onsite (up to 18 months)

Competitive wage $22.57 to $24.97 per hour3 weeks annual vacation
