Job Summary
Eaton Academy is seeking an energetic and student-centered Physical Education & Health Teacher to promote lifelong fitness, healthy habits, teamwork, and wellness among scholars in grades K–8. This position includes teaching Physical Education to grades K–8 and one section of Health Education.
Duties
- Plan and deliver engaging Physical Education instruction for grades K–8.
- Teach one Health Education class focused on wellness, nutrition, personal responsibility, and healthy decision-making.
- Promote physical fitness, sportsmanship, teamwork, and positive character development.
- Organize and supervise physical activities, fitness assessments, and school-wide wellness initiatives.
- Maintain a safe and structured learning environment.
- Collaborate with staff to support scholar wellness and school culture.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records.
- Communicate effectively with families regarding student growth and participation.
Qualifications
Required
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate (or ability to obtain certification).
- Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Health Education, or related field.
- Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to engage scholars of varying ages and abilities.
Preferred:
- Experience teaching K–8 Physical Education.
- Experience working in a Title I or at-risk school setting.
- Coaching experience is a plus.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

Pay: $41,000.00 – $55,000.00 per year
